[SPOILERS] So What About Those Other A-Holes In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2?

Here we are some spoilers for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. This is for one of the after credits scenes and concerning a character that the marketing hasn't said a lot about. If you've seen the movie or if you don't care about spoilers, take a look after the image for what Kevin Feige and James Gunn have to say about these characters.

So one of the characters we meet in the movie is Ravager Stakar, aka Starhawk played Sylvester Stallone. He talks about how he had to kick Yondu out of the Ravagers for breaking their rules and it "broke his heart" to do it. Starhawk and Yondu were part of the original Guardians of the Galaxy team and this interaction seems to imply that the team existed in some form in the past.

In a post-credits clip (the second one I believe but feel free to correct me) we see Stakar gathered with other members of Ravagers after Yondu's funeral and he laments that it "took a tragedy to bring them all together again". Those members include Charlie 27 (Ving Rhames), Aleta Ogord (Michelle Yeoh), Martinex (Michael Rosenbaum), and Mainframe (voiced by Miley Cyrus). Stakar then says that they should "go steal some shit." Collider asked Kevin Feige about the post-credits scene and if they have any plans for this second group to get their own movie or if it was just for a laugh.

"It's always a bit of both. It's always, we do it because it's fun in the moment and it's fun as a potential sneak of what's to come. I think all things being equal, I think James and everybody at Marvel would love to see the continued adventures in some aspect, whether it's a large pat in a future movie or as James just said to somebody else, a Howard the Duck level appearance down the line of any or all of those original guardians. But really the most important immediate thing for us really just to establish and showcase that yes, those original Guardians, though they may never call themselves that in our movie mythology, but they exist."

That is quite an all-star cast for just a throwaway joke but, then again, perhaps everyone involved just wanted to have some fun in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. At a press conference James Gunn added:

"With all of the post-credit scenes in this movie, they're all funny and fun, and most of them are things that we hope to see continuing on in the MCU, whether that's in supporting roles in future movies, or whatever. I think it would be great to see those things and those characters show up."

Again, those are some big names for a throwaway joke and Stallone has gone on record saying he is going to have a part to play in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We already have confirmation of a third movie so perhaps pitting two teams of Guardians against each other could be fun. Perhaps there could be some sort of ideological difference between the two teams? Comic fans do love to see their favorite characters fight before they become friends. A fight between these two teams could make for a fun act II interlude before they are forced to team-up to take on something too big for one team.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is out now.
