Does Stan Lee Cameo In Thor: Ragnarok? Who Else?
It's Thursday the 19th, it's gone 5 p.m. in the UK, and the embargo has been lifted — so get ready for some Thor: Ragnarok articles! You can choose a low-spoilery review, comic creator credits, these mention of cameos, and answering the oft-asked question of whether there are post-credit scenes or not, and whether it is worth sitting through the credits.
So, the cameos. Is Stan Lee in it? And who else shows their face?
Yes, Stan Lee is in it. Of course, Stan Lee is in it. He is working for the Grandmaster in his tower. Because it is Stan Lee's job, before the gladiatorial match, to cut Thor's hair turning him from this…
…to this.
So who else? Well, you may be aware that Benedict Cumberbatch will reprise his role as Doctor Strange, featuring the scene from the end credits of Thor: The Dark World.
But before that, near the beginning of the movie, as Thor returns to an Asgard being ruled by Loki pretending to be Odin, we see the events of the previous Thor retold. Much as Game of Thrones did a season ago, we see scenes re-enacted by a group of actors. Sam Neill is an actor playing the role of Odin, Matt Damon plays Loki, now reappraised as the true hero of Asgard with a statue to match, and Thor… dammit, I couldn't tell past the beard. I will update this if I find it elsewhere.
There's one other scene, when Thor and Hulk recover the Quinjet that stranded Hulk here, we have a message from Natasha Romanov, the Black Widow as played by Scarlet Johanssen. And a very important message too.
Oh and before I forget, there's also a scene where Thor takes his top of and poses in such a fashion so that the sunlight glistens off his abs. Well, it's as traditional as a Stan Lee cameo is.
Enjoy the film! And tell me any cameos I may have missed!
