The Vikings Invade San Diego
Aaron Hale writes for Bleeding Cool.
One of the best things about San Diego Comic Con is the sheer amount of things you can do with or without the benefit of a ticket.
The History Channel has gone all out to promote the second season of their hit show, The Vikings, so in the lot across from the front of the convention centre, they have built the Viking Waterway Experience: a 50 foot long, 14,000 gallon water tank in which anyone can learn to sail like a Viking in a miniature on board replica ship. You can even compete against others.
When I visited the attraction, the cast of the show came out to greet fans and welcome them with issue #1 of the Zenescope-produced prequel comic. That's not going to happen all of the time, of course, but mucking about on the boat is its own reward.
