Tony Lee Has Two More Films In Development: '12 Tasks' And 'Hope Falls'

At London Super Comic Con, I was surprised to bump into Tony Lee signing at the Markosia booth. After all, he had previously been a) out of sorts with Markosia and b) he ran the comics show side of the London Film and Comic Con, a rival to the show, a few weeks ago. Though it seems he has stepped down from that role.

Tony Lee Has Two More Films In Development: '12 Tasks' And 'Hope Falls'He was with BoxFly Pictures producer Haydn Pryce-Jenkins, who has worked with Lee on a number of film projects including Stoker's Monster, In The Ring, and Also Known As.

Well, it seems as if there are two more on the slate. The first is an adaptation of Lee and Dan Boultwood's Hope Falls, originally published by Markosia and last seen in production at Future Films — but the second, 12 Tasks, is a new British comedy film directed by Keeping Mum's Niall Johnston. It follows Michael, a lawyer, who after his mother's death learns that his real father is a street food vendor who believes that he's the Greek God Zeus — leading to a road trip of wackiness where Michael is forced to perform his own more modern "twelve tasks of Hercules" while connecting with his dysfunctional new family.

Although sounding like another American Gods bandwagon film, I remember Tony talking about this several years ago as GODfather, a web series with Geek Syndicate's David Monteith and Doctor Who's Frazer Hines involved.

Whether the cast changes or not with the increased budget, I just hope there's a role for Bill Nighy.
