It looks like Neil Gaiman's Coraline may be joining the ranks of classic horror and science fiction works parodied in a segment on The Simpsons' Treehouse Of Horror Halloween specials.

Gaiman posted the following clue to Twitter:

First published in 2002, Gaiman's children's fantasy novel about a young girl who finds a magical hallway to an opposite world with a particularly overbearing mother should make great fodder for the annual cartoon celebration.

Season 29 of The Simpsons premieres on September 29.
