Halo 2 Anniversary's New Look Leaves Mouths Watering At San Diego Comic Con

By Dan Celko

It would appear that all the stops are being pulled out for Halo: Master Chief Collection. Specifically with the Halo 2: Anniversary Edition included in the pack and how it looks.

Images and video of remastered cinematic footage from the game were showcased at the Halo: Master Chief Collection panel at SDCC. When standing on their own, the new cinematics could be confused with real life footage and, when it was put next to the old scenes that we all know and love, I found myself wondering how we ever were impressed with the original graphics. Don't worry though, if you still want to play with the original graphics with the flashback mode that was in the original Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary.

For those of you who are concerned that the game play of Halo 2 will be changed for the new console, do not worry. Lead producer, Dennis Ries assures that maintaining the original experience is of the upmost important. To this end, the same game code from the original game was used in the remake.

The rest of the time in the panel was spent discussing how gamers will be able to play content smoothly through all 4 of the included games.

With a new menu system unique to the Master Chief Collection, player will be able to easily chose any mission they would like throughout the series or even play through playlists of missions with a certain theme. These can include all the missions that have vehicles or the ultimate challenge: playing every mission in Halo: The Master Chief Collection straight through.

The access to features and content throughout the series is not limited to single player gameplay. Players can choose from over 100 available maps from across the series in Multiplayer.

With new animations that look like they are from a multi-million dollar movie, the ability to revist your favorite moment from the Halo series, and more content than any other game available for $60, Halo: The Master Chief Collection has long time fans excited.
