Randy Orton Appears on WWE SmackDown Live Despite Company Investigating Sexual Harassment Allegations

Things can change very quickly in the world of professional wrestlings. Just a few weeks ago, the wrestling world couldn't stop talking about Randy Orton's expert heel promo delivered after brutally assaulting Jeff Hardy. But this week, all anyone is talking about regarding the former WWE Champion is the current sexual harassment investigation WWE says it's conducting into allegations made about Orton by former WWE writer Court Bauer in a years-old podcast.

A transcription of Bauer's statement was posted to Reddit by user /u/CarterVorhees31. This is what it said:

Listening to old episodes of MLW podcast….during episode 49, former WWE Writer Court Bauer tells a story about Randy Orton showing his dick to new writers, touching it, and asking them to shake his hand.

Court Bauer on Randy Orton: "For every new writer that would show up, he come in the room put his hand down his pants, pull out his dick, touch himself, then say "I'm Randy Orton, shake my hand…oh you dont want to shake my hand? You're big leaguing me? That's fucked up man. Should I tell Vince and Steph you wont shake Randy Ortons hand?"

The writers would all start sweating and backing up into the corner, the guys dick is still hanging out, and he would be there cutting a promo on a guy with his dick hanging out for like five minutes. Court goes on to say Orton was very intense so you could never tell if he was fucking with you or he was really hot.

Court says he was lucky…Randy did it to him on the 1st day he was with the company at tv and just as he was about to pull his dick out, Stephanie walked in, and that shit went right back in his pants. Court describes it as a teacher entering the classroom.

When asked if he would have shaken his hand, Court says "I dont know. I'm a bit of a germaphobe." Court says this was something Orton did during his [Court's] entire time at the WWE, and he is surprised Orton didnt get hit with sexual harassment.

Over at Sporting News, another former WWE writer, Kevin Eck, said the following about his time at the company:

Am I the only one who …

… thinks Randy Orton has been on fire on the mic since turning heel?

I admit I wasn't initially excited by another Orton heel turn, but his promos have been so good, I've changed my opinion. It's not so much what Orton's saying; it's how he's saying it.

On a side note, I don't have any comment on the recent stories about Orton's backstage behavior other than to say that I always avoided shaking hands with him during my time on the WWE creative team.

… would rather shake hands with Randy Orton and risk an appearance by "the little Viper" than listen to a promo from The IIconics?

Either way, you're probably scarred for life, but at least Orton's naughty handshake won't cause your ears to bleed.

How can the powers that be in WWE not realize that Peyton Royce and Billie Kay's mean girls act is generating go-away heat? The material they've been given isn't great, but their performances are even worse.

Another former writer, Freddie Prinze Jr., also responded to a question about Orton handshakes:

WWE has issued statements to multiple media organizations, including major media ones like Fox News, saying they are investigating the matter.

Nevertheless, Orton appeared on WWE SmackDown tonight, watching Jeff Hardy after Hardy survived an attack by Shinsuke Nakamura after his match with Shelton Benjamin. WWE even promoted the appearance on Twitter with an image that seems apt for meming in ways unfavorable to WWE's PR department.
