In Doomsday Clock, the unauthorised sequel to Watchmen being published by DC Comics, the Watchmen incursion crew are on the hunt for Dr Manhattan, who has been operating in the DC Universe, wiping out Titans histories here and Justice Societies there, splitting Superman in two, messing with Superman and Batman's respective fathers, all sorts of[...]

Working with the studio since 2012, the deal extension doesn't come as a huge surprise: Lindelof is currently working on HBO's series adaptation of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons's iconic limited comic series Watchmen[...]
It is very Watchmen-like, as Rich Johnston said in his article on the subject It also has elements of Marvel's original Civil War tale: The Justice League has infighting between Wonder Woman, and Batman, and Nightwing speaks of how the government will be coming after superheroes soon.
One of my concerns about how this comic will[...]
I understand that Watchmen did the same thing, but—well, no comic is perfect.
Doomsday Clock adheres to very strict nine panel layouts for almost every page in the comic On the surface, it may seem to make sense for a sequential comic to have as many panels as possible with which to tell one's story, but[...]
This is the story what will marry the regular DC Universe to Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' legendary Watchmen continuity.
I mean, I'm assuming that's the end goal DC Universe: Rebirth and The Button both laid the ground work for this merger to happen.
The year is 1992[...]
The Watchmen world is no stranger to legacy heroes of course, with there being two Nite-Owls in the series So that someone else has taken up Rorschach's name and guise is maybe not as unusual as one would think.
So, what makes the ungloved hand enough to prove he's someone else? Simple… this Rorschach is a[...]
There's a whole heap of reasons for this comic to have so much discussion, from the fact that DC are placing such importance on it in a never-before-seen amount of PR support (seriously, not even Dark Nights: Metal got this much), to the fact it is new work by Johns and Frank, the follow up[...]

Beyond Watchmen & Judge Dredd: The Art of John Higgins by John Higgins is a massive, solid art book done in lovely, thick, high-gloss paper It's made to be read on a table, being a decently large book At a weight of roughly three pounds and with pages being 9.8" square, I could hold it in[...]
Due to the incredible demand for the series that promises to bring the WATCHMEN characters and the DC Universe together for the first time, DOOMSDAY CLOCK #1 has already gone back to the printer.
Fans had the opportunity to reject a comic symbolizing the mistreatment of comic book creators and the exploitation of their creations for[...]
Featuring characters from Watchmen and the DC Universe — and a Dr Manhattan who has been messing with Superman and Batman's respective fathers, including Jor-El posing as Mister Oz and kidnapping Doomsday.
So, there's stuff.
But one aspect of the November 22nd date hasn't been picked up on until now: November 22nd is also the date in[...]
Just like the divisive ending to LOST, Damon Lindelof is offering no explanation for why he would disregard the wishes of co-creator Alan Moore and make an HBO TV adaptation of Watchmen, a comic book he claims to respect Lindelof did, however, have some comments about his upcoming show during an interview with bird-themed pop[...]
Review copies of Doomsday Clock #1 by Geoff Johns and Gary Frank published by DC Comics were sent to press earlier this week. Some with pancake mix, some
About two hours ago, a new page popped up on DC Comics' official news blog. The title: The Great Lie. But clicking on the link brings you to a mysterious

There's just one problem, though Didn't Kovacs die at the end of Watchmen?
That was a rhetorical question He did So when Rorschach's return was revealed[...]
Dave Gibbons made an appearance at a Madefire panel at New York Comic Con tonight, and this reporter was able to grab him briefly for a few quick questions about his thoughts on the Watchmen sequel, Doomsday Clock, and his other current work To start:
"I wasn't told anything at all – I know just as much as anybody[...]
But Johns is defying that wisdom.
"The only thing you have to have read beyond this story is Watchmen You don't have to read Rebirth to understand Doomsday Clock," Johns promised, though he did say you should know who Batman and Superman are.
Doomsday Clock #1 hits stores on November 22.
At the Doomsday Clock panel at[...]

Damon Lindelof's Watchmen Adaptation For HBO Starts Pre-Production
I'm excited for this for a whole bunch of reasons First, I've been saying for years that HBO (and eventually Netflix) would be a[...]
To either the delights or fears of comic books fans around the world, Damon Lindelof's adaption of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' 1986 limited comic series Watchmen just took a major step towards full series status this afternoon when HBO confirmed that it has greenlit a pilot order and additional scripts.
Though pilot and script orders don't necessarily[...]

Back in June, we learnt that Damon Lindelhof was in talks with HBO to make a TV adaptation of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons's Watchmen, but it is not intended to[...]
We had a chat about how we wanted to play Bran this season, and they suggested Doctor Manhattan from the Watchmen comic Bran was slightly based on that, existing in all these different times at once, knowing all these various things, being this emotionless rock connecting these different timelines and the history of the universe[...]
So, I thought I understood pretty much all of Watchmen I have read the Annotations I have watched the Kieron Gillen presentation, nodding along I thought I had squeezed all the nourishment out of that stone And I was utterly wrong.

In a statement that might not go over well with fans of Alan Moore's seminal comic book series, HBO President Casey Bloys told IGN that the cable giant's adaptation of Watchmen will not be a "literal translation" of the work Interviewed during the Television Critics Association's (TCA's) ongoing press tour, Bloys revealed that Damon Lindelof[...]
DC Comics SVP John Cunningham told retailers at San Diego Comic-Con that Doomsday Clock #1 is the culmination of everything Geoff Johns has ever done for DC Comics, and that it brings together every bit of history and takes it into tomorrow.

Oz, and the great big monsters, in concordance with the much-lauded Watchmen/DC Universe crossover, that would indicate that this is Ozymandias from Watchmen, with yet another plan And one that involved creating and defeating Supermen…and training them to be who they are at some point.
The character has remained most enigmatic as he has involved himself[...]
According to Variety, Lindelof is in talks with HBO to develop an adaptation of Watchmen This isn't the first time that HBO has tried to make a Watchmen show, as Doctor Manhattan's penis and HBO's propensity for gratuitous nudity seem like a match made in heaven The most recent report puts Zack Snyder talking to HBO[...]
