Crunchyroll Presents a World of Stone

Senku Ishigami finds himself awakened several thousand years after a cataclysmic event that turned all of humanity to stone. Ishigami is a big fan of science, so he sets out to save the human race through the scientific process.

He finds that his best friend from childhood has also been awakened, and the two of them start working on bringing anyone else they can back from the stone state they've been entombed in.

The series claims to depict two million years of scientific discovery, from the Stone Age to modern times.

Based on the Dr.Stone Manga Series

The original Dr. Stone manga series was published by the weekly Shonen Jump magazine in July of 2017, and has sold close to 2 million copies in Japan since it was launched.

The manga series was written by Riichiro Inagaki, with illustrations by Boichi. Crunchyroll has the international distribution rights.

Behind the Scenes on Dr. Stone

Dr. Stone will be animated by the iconic Japanese animation group,  TMS Studios, who produced animation for ReLife, D.Gray-Man, Detective Conan, and Megalo Box in the past.

The voice cast for Dr. Stone is fantastic, including the talents of Yūsuke Kobayashi (Subaru Natsuki in Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World) as Senku Ishigami; Makoto Furukawa (Saitama in One Punch Man) as Taiju Ōki; Kana Ichinose (Ichigo in DARLING in the FRANXX) as Yuzuriha Ogawa; and Yuuichi Nakamura (Bruno Bucciarati in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind) as Tsukasa Shishiou.

Crunchyroll's simulcast of Dr. Stone begins in July of 2019, with each episode available around the world at the same time (except in Asia).
