This week's episode of Crunchyroll's Jujutsu Kaisen, "Metamorphosis, Part 2," starts revealing the true nature of Fake Geto. The episode was a bit of a rollercoaster that just kept taking us through looks, including a few surprise guests joining the battlefield. Who exactly is Fake Geto? Who is really Choso? And how are Choso and Yuji related? This episode has left us with so many questions, and we cannot help but wonder where things are heading from here on.
We see Panda rescuing a disturbed Kusakabe who is reconsidering his position about Yuji after seeing the damage Sukuna caused. He even mentions to Panda how he does not agree with keeping Yuji alive. I mean, who can blame them after that spectacle? I would be traumatized, too. We then cut to Mei Mei, who is now in Malaysia with Ui Ui, thanks to his power. I am not going to lie – the scene between the two of them in bed was pretty disturbing, considering they are siblings. I do not believe Mei Mei sees anyone's life in any other way other than their worth to her and a means to get money. Though nonetheless, it was still pretty depraved, considering how manipulative we have seen her be. That said, I also want to know who she was talking to and advising to sell off all stocks in Tokyo; we know she works for whoever pays the most, so I wonder who is she playing with now.
The story then goes back to the mess in Shibuya, and Yuji starts running toward Geto in an attempt to land a hit. Fake Geto, you know, talking a bunch of crap about curses and being able to use this power to control them. Typical bad guy move, I know. However, he manages to keep Yuji at bay and then proceeds to use his power to absorb Mahito into a glowing ball of his essence which seems painful to then swallow him. Fake Geto explains his technique, and Uzumaki lets him use the curse's technique. Thankfully the rest of the students arrive to provide some support, and when Miwa is about to strike, Fake Geto immediately shatters her sword and tries using Mahito on her. Thankfully Kusakabe was able to deflect any damage.
We then get another surprise guest to join the fight, hoping to know more about himself in the process: Choso. He calls Fake Geto "Noritoshi Kamo." Even Kamo was surprised, but he referred to a man who lived years before and was considered the most evil Jujutsu Sorcerer who messed with the cursed wombs that created Choso and his brothers. Choso also continues talking about Yuji as his brother and quite intensely, even Panda calls him out for this being the second time it happens and possibly secreting some confusing pheromones. However, Choso truly is shaken by how he feels about Yuji's death, just like he had his brothers, and condemns Geto for making him fight Yuji.
They do not manage to make a dent in Fake Geto as he puts on a good fight along with Uraume, who has a pretty strong ice technique. However, I am very curious about Yuji now. Is this part of a power he does not know he has? Or is he really a cursed womb? Considering he declined to hear about his past from his grandfather, there might be a lot we do not know about. The fights were pretty awesome visually, I especially loved the colors of the Uzumaki power Fake Geto called. Right before they inflict any more damage, another guest arrives: Yuki Tsukumo, whom we met in Geto's past and asked again the same question about his preferences. I am so curious about where things are heading with Jujutsu Kaisen, and I hope we get a chance to slow down a bit before the season ends and mourn the losses we have experienced.
