Article Summary

Following WWE Raw's opening promo from CM Punk, where he dropped another of his "pipe bomb" promos and laid waste to a number of individuals and even their parent company in its wake, Pat McAfee responded to the promo on social media. In case you missed it, McAfee was inserted into the Cody Rhodes/Randy Orton storyline this past Friday on SmackDown, to the absolute rejection of the fanbase, who found the reveal of him being the guy Orton was talking to as a lame reveal. It sparked Rhodes to come out and do what felt like a "worked" shoot on the state of things, but if we only knew what was coming on Monday.
- CM Punk addresses the audience on WWE Raw, promoting his upcoming WrestleMania match with Roman Reigns.
- Pat McAfee delivers a kick to the Rhodes family Jewels during WWE SmackDown on April 3, 2026, showcasing his role as a WrestleMania hero.
Pat McAfee Takes To Social Media To Respond to CM Punk's WWE Raw Rant
On Raw this week, near the end of his latest promo, CM Punk roasted the hell out of McAfee, calling him "Pat MAGA-fee" and calling him out for the things he said on SmackDown about ticket sales. As well as being shoehorned into their storylines and told to tell the guy (Ari Emanuel) who put him in there to lower WWE ticket prices.
McAfee responded on X, saying, "Last night a Punk ass bitch explained that he is not worth the price of admission to #WrestleMania42 WE CAN ALL AGREE WITH THAT.. it's kindof the whole thing I been sayin BUT.. I have GREAT news THE WRESTLING GODS have blessed us and @RandyOrton IS HERE TO SAVE YOU ALL WE'RE HAVING [GOAT] CONVOS AROUND HERE […] Tell a fan. Let 'em know. The business needs us. The actual fans of wrestling need to come together and THANK THE MAN WHO IS GONNA SAVE THE BUSINESS"
How WWE will navigate all this with less than two weeks to go until WrestleMania 42 takes place in Las Vegas will be interesting to watch. But it all feels like a rehash of last year's drama with celebrities and the build-up to Rhodes vs. John Cena, which ultimately ended in what many consider one of the worst WrestleMania finales ever. We'll see how the next ten days go for the company before the PLE takes place from April 18-19, 2026.
