Walking Dead at SDCC: Andrew Lincoln's Teary Departure, Samantha Morton Cast as Alpha of the Whisperers, Premiere Date, and More
Courtesy of Bleeding Cool's on-site TV reporter Ray Flook:
Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead have information exploding out of San Diego Comic-Con today. Major announcements, departures, and more are spinning out of the panel hard and fast. Thankfully, Bleeding Cool is here to help you get all of your Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead info.
Firstly, what you heard (and Robert Kirkman spoiled) is true: Rick Grimes actor Andrew Lincoln is leaving the show. Lincoln announced it with tears in his eyes at today's panel at SDCC.
Samantha Morton has been cast as Alpha, leader of the Whisperers.
The Walking Dead officially returns this October 7th. Greg Nicotero will still be directing the show, and Kang will be the writer on the series.

Meanwhile, Fear the Walking Dead is introducing four new characters to the series, one of which is the first character whom uses a wheelchair to feature regularly in either series. That one has a new trailer too, which Newsweek has for you here. Sorry, we can only give you so much without help.
In any case, check back with Bleeding Cool for further TWD and FTWD news in the future. We'll have you covered.
