From The Floor Of San Diego Comic Con 2011
So Brendon and I just walked the floor of San Diego Comic Con. He's busy putting up stories on the right hand side of the side film related, so look there for Ghost Rider, Men In Black, Spider-Man, Avengers and all that.
But let's take a look at how the comic side us shaping up.
There's a lot more set up than usual on a Tuesday. I'm told that by last Sunday they even had carpets down. DC have the big banners showing off their Relaunch images… including the pantless star spangled Wonder Woman.
Marvel were busy building their Avengers stage – check Brendon's Avengers article to see what it became…
Image have really gone to town with their pavilion, including a Morning Glories image with, um, a hole for a door in in. Feel free to make as many Glory hole jokes as you like. Nick Spencer will be joining Jonathan Hickman and Brian K Vaughan, amongst others, to announce new Image books at the Saturday panel at 3-4pm.
Dark Horse are pushing the digital comics very much this year. Look for the QR code to get free comics…
Lego Bumblebee
The walking dead put the Avatar booth together. Lots of Lady Death, Fevre Dream and oodles and oodles of Crossed and Stitched
Artists Alley is currently a blank canvas. DeviantART are sponsoring this area of the show tomorrow, with special carpeting! And this screen will be showing their work all convention long…
From outside…
Pretty Sideshowness
Seeking refuge for the lumbering fork lift trucks that roam the halls.
Alex Ross has a new sketchbook out folks! Just opposite the Marvel stage.
Radical Publishing are stil making an impressive splash in the film end of the convention hall.
This sucker punch bunny made Brendon very hapy.
Here's a first shot of one of the massive Warner Bros bags, in situ. The lady in question admits to being a Bleeding Cool reader. And the Fox Tower has yet to be brought down by phone hacking allegations.
This was the San Diego scene as Brendan and I taxied from the airport. It seemed so peaceful then… tommorow, unleash hell!
