Marvel Tells Retailers What Is Happening After Secret Wars At C2E2 – 8 Months Later

Thanks to David Swallow and Peter G reporting from the C2E2 Retailer Breakfast in Chicago for Bleeding Cool.

Where Marvel Comics showed off unseen Esad Ribic pages from Secret Wars and telling retailers they they will be copies of getting a 56 page free preview book for Secret Wars to hand out to customers.

Secret Wars #8 will have Infinity Stones promotional items, in a similar fashion to DC's Green Lantern rings, renamed from the Infinity Gems to match the movie nomenclature, along with other promotional items.

But there is more to come. What will come… after Secret Wars?

Well, they emphasised that A-Force will be a leading team book for the new Marvel Universe after Secret Wars. That the Squadron Sinister is the new Squadron Supreme team for the Marvel Universe. Future Imperfect characters will become players, as well as those from 2099, and certain 1892 characters as well. Other books that will play a part in the new Marvel Universe include AVX, Weirdworld and the monster team, the Howling Commandoes.

And next week, we will all get Marvel's first proper post-Secret Wars announcement, entitled "8 Months Later"…

Marvel have sold Secret Wars as being the end. This is where they start selling it as being the beginning.
