Did A Mention Of The Fantastic Four Put The Marvel Heroes Game In The Penalty Box?

Bleeding Cool has at length detailed all manner of Fantastic Four and X-Men licenses that have been withdrawn or not approved since the Fox Studios negotiations fell apart. Even if there is a possibility that this decision may be on the verge of being reversed…

But here is one that wasn't. Another piece in the rather large jigsaw.

David Brevik, creator of Diablo CEO of Gazillion is currently working on the Marvel Heroes online game. And he also plays that game, with his wife, streamed live, and answering questions as he goes, in several hour long stretches…

Such as in this video. Where, thirty minutes in, we get a confession.

Jungle Queen: Ask him all the questions, he's drunk

David Brevik: Secret Invasion

Jungle Queen: Its the not so secret Invasion

David Brevik: Right.

Jungle Queen: This has already been announced right?

David Brevik: Yes. We're working on the new chapter its Secret Invasion, it's out with the…

Jungle Queen: Wait ,what about Civil War?

David Brevik: That's in the Spring. Talk about spoilering..

Jungle Queen: I don't think we've talked about that yet.

David Brevik: Not really that big of a surprise, that we would tie in with the Captain America movie.

Jungle Queen: Considering you tied in with every other movie. Even the one you weren't supposed to. Whoops!

David Brevik: We're still in the Penalty box for that

Jungle Queen: Fricking Marvel

David Brevik: Yeah, fricking Marvel.

Jungle Queen: Fricking Fox.

David Brevik: You think Marvel are here watching us?

Marvel Heroes did run a Fantastic Four mini-event in their game and it is likely that this was the cause of offence. Bleeding Cool has repeatedly reported on how Marvel licenses for the Fantastic Four have been withdrawn to a ludicrous degree. At least Marvel Heroes still gets to use an occasional X-Man…

There is also some gossip that recent redundancies at Gazillion are down to this – and that scapegoats were required.
