Konami Rep Says That Publisher Is Still Making AAA Games For The Future
A few days ago, we heard a report that claimed Konami was packing up all of its AAA production, on franchises like Metal Gear Solid and Silent Hills to focus on mobile development and other ventures.
Well, now we have a conflicting report. Speaking to Nintendo Life (via VG247), a Konami member of customer service has said plainly that these reports aren't true. They said:
I can promise you that we're definitely not leaving Metal Gear behind or anything like that. I know some blogs were claiming that online this morning, but I'm not really sure where they'd be getting that from.
We're still definitely working on console games and franchises such as Metal Gear, Silent Hill, Castlevania, PES and all the rest.
It's worth keeping in mind that customer service people may not know about the movements of the higher ups, but we will have to see. With all these conflicting reports, it sure would be nice to get some clarification…Konami?
