Marvel Cancels More Second Prints – Spider-Man, Spider-Gwen, Captain Marvel, Captain America And Hulk
Last week, Bleeding Cool reported that Marvel had cancelled a swathe of their planned second printings of recent issues. Marvel Comics had made a big thing about upping and increasing their second prints in the light of sellouts and increased consumer demand, but this seemed to be going against that grain. Last week, only Darth Vader #16 was announced as getting a second printing while a number of titles were cut from the programme.
Marvel did not reply to inquiries made yesterday about what was going on
But today, they have cancelled a bunch more second prints of titles they'd already announced, Amazing Spider-Man #7, Captain America: Sam Wilson #6, Captain Marvel #2, Spider-Gwen #5 and Totally Awesome Hulk #3.
Is this a reverse ferret on Marvel's part regarding these second prints? Some cheap PR that is then reined back upon? A bean counter knocking heads?
This is also the first week that Marvel has not announced a second print of the year…
