In their fourth quarter earnings call today, Activision confirmed Destiny 2 will release in fiscal year 2017, and given Activision's fiscal year calendar, we can expect it before December 31, 2017. Which is pretty fantastic.

During the call, Activision clarified that it will release a "full Destiny sequel in 2017 to broaden the franchise's global reach, which along with follow-on content plans, sets the stage for growth." Acitivision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg confirmed to IGN that "development is going great, and it is indeed on track for release this fall." and also that Destiny will aim for a "great cinematic story" this time around.

So we'll finally get some actual explanations. Hopefully.

Destiny 2 will aslo appear on PC, maybe.
