Weekly Crossover 'Milk Wars' Mashes Up Young Animal And The DCU In January

Gerard Way's Doom Patrol may have experienced some technical difficulties with coming out on time in the past year, but in the case of announcements for Saturday's Vertigo and Young Animal panel at New York Comic Con, the comic was early, for once.

DC Comics accidentally leaked the press release early, revealing everything that will be discussed at the panel later today. In addition to two new vertigo series, Motherlands by Si Spurrier and Rachael Stott and Deathbed by Joshua Williamson and Riley Rossmo, the leaked press release also revealed a new Young Animal title, Eternity Girl, by Magdalene Visaggio and Sonny Liew.

As if that weren't enough, we also got some details on the crossover that kicks off in January with the Justice League/Doom Patrol special from Steve Orlando, Gerard Way, and Aco. The crossover will be called Milk Wars, explaining the Frank Quitely cover of a character called Milk Man released back in July. It will be a weekly event, "mashing up" Young Animal titles and characters from the DCU.

Check out the press release blurb, awkwardly referring to events that haven't happened yet, below:

Plus, the weird and popular DC's Young Animal imprint, curated by My Chemical Romance's frontman Gerard Way, continues to expand its list of titles and announced the remaining DC/DC's Young Animal crossover issues. DOOM PATROL artist Nick Derington discussed his work on the series, with writer Steve Orlando sharing more details for the first issue of "Milk Wars," and new series writer Magdalene Visaggio giving an early look at her upcoming project:

"Milk Wars" will mash up DC's Young Animal with characters from the DC Universe, beginning with a JUSTICE LEAGUE/DOOM PATROL SPECIAL from Orlando and Way, followed by SHADE, THE CHANGING GIRL/WONDER WOMAN SPECIAL, MOTHER PANIC/BATMAN SPECIAL, CAVE CARSON/SWAMP THING SPECIAL and DOOM PATROL/JUSTICE LEAGUE SPECIAL. The weekly crossover adventure begins January 31.
