Ronda Rousey Will Still Be in UFC 3 Despite WWE Contract
Ronda Rousey will still be in the upcoming UFC 3, despite her recent appearance and contract agreement with the WWE.
Rousey made her (not so surprising) debut for the WWE over the weekend to see out the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. It was a big moment as the company confirmed one of the biggest names in sports, full stop, had joined their ranks, sure to draw eyes to the product. However, it is of course a loss for the UFC, who have an EA game coming out very soon. She is confirmed for the roster, but with the recent transfer of sorts, is she still eligible for the game?
According to GameInformer, an EA representative has confirmed that for the time being, that is going to remain the case. Contracts are weird messy things, and it's not clear what Rousey's allows in terms of video game appearances, so it's not impossible she would see a removal down the line, perhaps making way for a WWE 2K18 appearance.
This is good to hear. Creating these characters undoubtedly take a lot of work and it would be a shame to see all the work the developers did on digitally recreating her go to waste so close to release. And it is close to release. The game is out this Friday, so make sure to mark your calendars. Hopefully it builds on the good thing in previous games, and irons out the not so great things. Here's hoping. A good UFC game would be great.
