Vince McMahon Trolls Donald Trump with Pro-Diversity John Cena Video on July 4th

WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon took to Twitter on July 4th to pay tribute to the greatest American alive today: international entertainment superstar John Cena. McMahon called Cena "the quintessential American" in his tweet, which also featured a video of the commercial Cena did for #WeAreAmerica, an activist campaign by Ad Council promoting the embracement of diversity as an essential part of American identity. Cena recorded the commercial for the Fourth of July in 2016.

"Almost half the country belongs to minority groups," Cena says in the video. "People who are Lesbian, African American, and Lesbian and Bi and Transgender and Native American and proud of it. After all, what's more American than freedom to celebrate the things that make us us."

"This year, patriotism shouldn't just be about pride of country," Cena continues. "It should be about love. Love beyond age, disability, sexuality, race, religion, and any other labels. Because the second any of us judge people based on those labels, we're not really being patriotic, are we?"

It's interesting that McMahon chose this particular clip in celebrating the Cenation Leader on Independence Day. Another top WWE Superstar, and a Hall-of-Famer, Donald Trump, currently sits in the oval office, supported by the McMahon family in his campaign with generous financial contributions. Linda McMahon even serves on Trump's cabinet as the head of his Small Business Administration. However, President Trump's actions before and after gaining the presidency have largely been divisive rather than uniting, and the president would probably take Cena's message as a personal attack rather than a message of inspiration.

Is Vince McMahon essentially subtweeting his WrestleMania 23 rival both with the video and by calling Cena, not Trump, the quintessential All-American? We're going to go ahead and say: yes. Which means it's time for a Battle of the Billionaires rematch. Only this time, instead of facing the late Umaga, Trump's champion Bobby Lashley will face Umaga's cousin, Roman Reigns. Oh yeah, and it's happening at Extreme Rules. It's almost as if this whole thing was planned!
