James Tynion IV – Confirming Nothing About Batman, But Taking The Congratulations

Bleeding Cool reported earlier today that we had the word that tomorrow, for Batman Day, DC Comics was to announce who was to write the ongoing Batman comic book series in 2020, taking over from Tom King, with issue 86 in January.

And then that the person in question would by James Tynion IV. James is attending Barnes & Noble at Union Square in New York for Batman Day tomorrow, with Scott Snyder, Dan DiDio, Brad Walker and Peter Tomasi, so odds are it will happen there and then.

However, James isn't saying anything. I mean a few days ago, he did say…

… but today he's just chilling.

Though plenty of comic book folk took the opportunity to congratulate him.

And Sean Gordon Murphy did tweet his own congratulations – before hastily deleting it.

And some Batbook writers were just, totally coincidentally, taking the opportunity to praise him.

The Barnes & Noble event in Union Square begins at 4pm tomorrow…
