Ruins of Ravencroft Spins Out of Absolute Carnage at Marvel in January

Absolute Carnage may be wrapping up in November and leading into Venom Island, but that's not all the fallout we'll be getting from the Marvel super-mega-crossover event. Revealed at the Diamond Retailer Breakfast at New York Comic Con, January will see the launch of Ruins of Ravencroft, a series of three one-shots starring Carnage, Sabretooth, and Dracula, written by Frank Tieri with various artists.

And after that, Tieri will write a five-issue Ravencroft mini-series, starring various criminally insane villains (the kind of maniacs who want to fight people in parking lots), with fan-favorite artist TBA.

Additionally, Marvel will publish Marvel Tales and True Believers reprints focusing on Ravencroft and the criminally insane.

"Well, apparently some jackass burnt Ravencroft down in ABSOLUTE CARNAGE VS. DEADPOOL," says Tieri. "And seeing as that jackass is me, I guess it was also up to me to build it back up. That's where RUINS OF RAVENCROFT comes in.

"What we'll learn in this event is that the original Ravencroft predates the one we know, that the very land itself that the site was built upon is soaked in blood. That there are connections to people, organizations, and events throughout Marvel history that were previously undisclosed. That in many cases, it can be said that Ravencroft is a site where evil was birthed in the Marvel U.

"Our insidious journey begins with three one-shots…starting in the 1600s with RUINS OF RAVENCROFT: CARNAGE, taking us to the 1900s in RUINS OF RAVENCROFT: SABRETOOTH, and finally RUINS OF RAVENCROFT: DRACULA, occurring during World War II.

"It all leads up to the five-issue RAVENCROFT limited series, which will see a new Ravencroft rise from the ashes…along with all the good—and yes, the bad—that'll come with it.
