"Altered Carbon" Season 2: Netflix Sci-Fi Series Taps Will Yun Lee Return
Will Yun Lee, who played the original Takeshi Kovacs, will return to Altered Carbon for its second season in a recurring role. The Netflix science fiction drama based on the Richard K. Morgan series focuses on Takeshi, who lived hundreds of years through different bodies. Lee's role is under wraps since Anthony Mackie plays the current Takeshi.
Created by Laeta Kalogridis, Altered Carbon spans over 300 years in the future. Death is no longer permanent as technology allows the transfer of consciousness to interchangeable bodies. Skydance Television produces the series. The upcoming season features a new mystery and mission. With new bodies and characters entering the fold, they try to make sense of their existence under their new vessels. They also have to survive and adjust as they have the memories of their past lives.
The first season saw Lee and Joel Kinnaman play Takeshi. The second season sees Mackie take over the role. Returning for season two are Chris Conner and Renée Elise Goldsberry. Joining them are Simone Missick, Dina Shihabi, Torben Liebrecht, James Saito, Lela Loren.
Altered Carbon is set in the 23rd century when the human mind has been digitized and the soul itself is transferable from one body to the next. Takeshi Kovacs, a former elite interstellar warrior known as an Envoy who has been imprisoned for 250 years, is downloaded into a future he'd tried to stop.

Lee kept himself busy with television and film. Following his eight-year run on CBS' Hawaii Five-0 as Sang Min, he played Taka in USA's Falling Water. Lee played Agent Park in Warner Bros' Rampage in 2018. The same year, he was also in Canal Street for Smith Global Media.
Lee recently wrapped up the third season of ABC's The Good Doctor as Dr. Alex Park. He is also in the Rogue Welfare trilogy. Lee will be in the upcoming animated feature Wish Dragon for Sony as the voice of Mr. Wong.
Season two of Altered Carbon premieres on Netflix in February.
