Dan Didio Reacts to Dan Didio's DC Departure
Bleeding Cool has published several articles collecting comics industry reactions to the shocking news broken by Bleeding Cool last week that Dan Didio is no longer at DC Comics, with word from sources indicating Didio was fired for "fostering a poor work environment," leaving Jim Lee in charge as the sole publisher for now.
But in perhaps the most important social media reaction of all, Dan Didio himself has weighed in, posting a message to fans on Facebook thanking them for the outpouring of support.
"Overwhelmed and humbled by the outpouring of love and support and it leaves me at a loss for words (first time for everything)," Didio wrote before, ironically, turning to a facsimile edition of a past comment to express his gratitude. "So, instead, I'll turn to what was said nearly five years ago on April 10, 2015 to best sum up how I feel. Love to you all."
Here's the video from 2015 Didio posted of himself giving an emotional speech to DC staff on the day DC moved out of their New York headquarters to head to Burbank, California:
We're still waiting on an official announcement from DC Comics about Didio's departure, which happened on a Friday, a day typically used to drop big news hoping it will fade out of the news cycle over the weekend. But for what may be the biggest comics news story of the decade, fading out of the news cycle seems unlikely. We'll keep you posted.
