BC Mag #5: Five Ways To Make Money Fast At SDCC
Bleeding Cool Magazine article excerpt by Rich Johnston
It costs a lot to attend the San Diego Comic Con. Hotels, tickets, flights, Pedi cabs; you're looking at a four figure sum straight up. So how about finding ways to make some of it back? Here are five tried and tested ways to make the pain of paying go away…
1 Look for exclusive toys that will only be made available at the show. So if someone is stuck in Poughkeepsie, you can make their dreams come true by selling them one. Run the second the show opens, preview night for preference, join the queue that somehow formed before the doors even opened and buy them. Lego, Hasbro, Mattel, Diamond Direct, get them and flip them on eBay ASAP. Some enterprising fellows get pre-orders from people online and then run around trying to fulfil them. Look to double, triple, or quadruple your money with ease. A My Little Pony Derpy exclusive from last year cost $19.99 in person. But one just sold on eBay for $120. If you bought two, that's a $200 profit from just standing in line. Do that five or six times throughout the show and your costs will be covered.
