Advance Review: A Special Munchkin Convention Is Born…MunchKon!

After fifteen issues, I still think this is one of the funniest comics in all the land. From BOOM! Box, Munchkin #15 written and illustrated by Len Paralta takes things to a whole new level with Munchkon! As Spyke and Flower go to a comic convention, they shine a bit of a realistic light on the events while maintaining the essence of the fantastical world.

Spyke is dead set on meeting his hero and he won't let anything get in his way. From there, we get to experience his journey…anxiety and all. It's a lot of pressure when you meet your hero after all. I do want to specifically comment on Len Paralta's art style. While his script is fun and comical, his art style is even better. The typical art style in Munchkin is pretty consistent and true to the tabletop game, but this was a nice break. The characters appear a bit more realistic and the colors are a tad darker, not so vibrant.

Overall, the fifteenth issue of Munchkin brought a smile to my face, and I'm sure it will do the same for you. Want to find out how MunchKon ends up for Spyke and Flower? Grab your issue of Munchkin #15 this Wednesday. Preview the first five pages below to hold you over…
