Are You Being Repped For A Comic Con Without Your Knowledge?
The Walking Dead's Tony Moore, currently running his own comic convention, sent out a shout out to the comics industry about a fellow called Scott Roush who he said was
"claiming to represent almost every name I've ever seen on every convention guest list in all of history, rife with horrible misspellings and including some names I know to be with other reps. He boasts a client list of over 300 names just in comics, not to mention his massive list of actors and wrestlers. His emails are a total mess. While our convention is young, fortunately my wife and I are far from greenhorns, and we were able to easily reach out to several of our friends about their purported representation. Their reactions ranged from "No, never heard of him" to "No, I heard about this guy a little while ago and told him to never mention my name again.""
So I enquired to Scott Roush that, if Bleeding Cool say, were to start comic conventions in the USA (it could happen) who he represented.? That, specifically, was the word I used. "Represent".
He replied telling me
So-I can get a lot of people-I used to send out a master list-It was too long and People were getting missed-So now I am in the process of sending lists by catagories-I will send you some and more later.
And he sent us the lists, reproduced at the end of this article.
So I started asking some of the comic book people he named. Most claimed never to have heard of him, a few said that they had been approached by him but weren't being represented, and certainly couldn't be "got" by him – and one said that yes, Scott had represented him at shows, and had done a very good job indeed.
Which sounds like it's not a complete con job, more a massive overexaggeration.
Tony Lee, one of the people named, told me
"I have never heard of Roush, nor have I ever been contacted by him in connection with representing me at any event, convention or signing. If a convention wants to bring be to their event, my details are always available from my website, and I have never needed someone to do this. If a convention believes that they've booked me, then please can they contact me by email, found on my website for confirmation."
When pressed about this, as well as pointing out the people on the list who didn't believe they were represented by him, Scott told me
"Some may not rememember but I have talked to them and have thier contact info-So as for an honest way to behave-I told them I can possibly find them shows-like I told them in the beginning. So you talked to some that were pleased so then you know that I have worked with some and hopefully more, I never know who is going to be requested-for example George Perez and Gary Friedrich-I will be working with for the first time in the future.I do my best and the conventions decide who they want-and I have contact info for them-I dont rep anybody exclusivly.But-I am happy to help find them conventions and help the conventions get the people they need. You mentioned starting some conventions-I can help you-I can get you guests in all catagories-Wrestlers,comic people,Horror,Sci-Fi etc.So, the one that was pleased should tell you I'm a good person and not sure about the ones you said I corresponded with-if I got them shows or if they were unavailable-I dont rep anybody exclusivly or claim to be thier rep, but if you need them for your show, I have thier info and can try to make it happen."
As for Tony Lee, Scott says he met him
"at Comicpalooza in Houston – like I said Alot of them I havnt had the chance to work with yet-some I have and they might not remember meeting me and giving me thier contact info-I'm not a jerk-I try to get them conventions and sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesnt-I just got Gary Friedrich a convention-I've had his info for years and never used it.its not up to me its up to the conventions-I f you want help Im more than happy to help-Im not trying to anger anyone-you said the one you spoke with that worked with me was happy thats my goal with everyone."
And Tony admitted
"I might have met him at Comicpalooza – you get guys who walk up and go 'hey, we're looking at doing something this year, I'd like to suggest you' but then nothing happens. If he says 'I've spoken to and can reach out to these guys' then that's fine. But to say 'I can bring these guys' isn't so cool."
People seem to have got the impression from Scott that the latter is the case. But, as I said, many I talked to claim never to have spoken to Scott – or certainly have no memory of speaking to him whatsoever.
Scott tells me, when I pointed out the implication of his wording,
I am happy for you to give me a suggestion on how you think I should say this. So, I thought you had a show and needed people, So I have contact info for all listed and I am more than happy to help your show have any of them attend. I do not rep any of them exclusivly, nor would I want to, as I believe repping people exclusivly robs them of opportunities as someebody else might have a connection I do not.So, When I talked to all of them I never told them I was going to rep them exclusively and I dont. I never got all caught up in terminology-manager, agent, booking agent, I prefer Booker as I know what agents and managers do and thats not me. So if you asked me if I rep these people-it was probally a simple answer of yes to get the ball rolling to get them booked on your show not to cause a big controversy. I work with conventions all over, and they decide who they want-I can make suggestions based on location of thier show, thier budget, who they have at thier show etc. I dont think anybody I have ever worked with-thinks hey I can only work with scott and nobody else. So, I hope this clears this up for you and if you need anybody or want suggestions for locations for your conventions I am more than happy to help-thats what you should get out of this encounter-I help you, I help the conventions, I help the celebrities-there should be no element of malice here.I am away at conventions probally 40 out of 52 weeks-sometimes multiple conventions in same weekend.
Does anyone have a suggestion?
Here are the lists. Are you on it? Do you want to be?

Peter David-His notable comic book work includes an award-winning 12-year run on The Incredible Hulk, as well as runs on Aquaman, Young Justice, Supergirl, X-Factor and Fallen Angel. His Star Trek work includes both comic books and novels such as Imzadi, and co-creating the New Frontier series. His other novels include film adaptations, media tie-ins, and original works, such as the Apropos of Nothing and Knight Life series. His television work includes series such as Babylon 5, Young Justice, Ben 10: Alien Force and Nickelodeon's Space Cases, the last of which David co-created.David has earned multiple awards for his work, including a 1992 Eisner Award, a 1993 Wizard Fan Award, a 1996 Haxtur Award, a 2007 Julie Award and 2011 GLAAD Media Award .Owsley was an assistant editor under Larry Hama, and thus, when he became an editor, he purchased a Spider-Man story from David, which appeared in The Spectacular Spider-Man #103 (June 1985). Owsley subsequently
purchased from David "The Death of Jean DeWolff. Among the new characters he created during his run on the series were the Riot Squad and the Pantheon. David wrote the first appearance of the Thunderbolts, a team created by Kurt Busiek and Mark Bagley, in The Incredible Hulk #449 (January 1997.David took over Dreadstar during its First Comics run, with issue #41 (March 1989) after Jim Starlin left the title, and remained on it until issue #64 (March 1991), the final issue of that run. David's other Marvel Comics work in the late 1980s and 1990s includes runs on Wolverine, the New Universe series Mark Hazzard: Merc and Justice, a run on the original X-Factor, and the futuristic series Spider-Man 2099- the title character of which David co-created. David left X-Factor after 19 issues, and wrote the first 44 issues of Spider-Man 2099, before quitting that book to protest the firing of editor Joey Cavalieri. The book was cancelled two issues later, along
with the entire 2099 line.At DC Comics in 1990, David wrote a seven-issue Aquaman miniseries, The Atlantis ChroniclesHe would later write a 1994 Aquaman miniseries, Aquaman: Time and Tide, which would lead to a relaunched monthly Aquaman series, the first 46 issues of which he would write from 1994–1998. His run on Aquaman gained notoriety, for in the book's second issue, Aquaman lost a hand, which was then replaced with a harpoon, a feature of the character that endured for the duration of David's run on the book.He wrote the Star Trek comic book for DC from 1988–1991. David enjoyed considerable runs on Supergirl and Young Justice, the latter eventually being canceled so that DC could use that book's characters in a relaunched Teen Titans monthly.David's work for Dark Horse Comics has included the teen spy adventure, SpyBoy, which appeared in a series and a number of miniseries between 1999 and 2004, and the 2007 miniseries The Scream.Other 1990s
work includes the 1997 miniseries, Heroes Reborn: The Return, for Marvel, and two creator-owned properties: Soulsearchers and Company, published by Claypool Comics, and the Epic Comics title Sachs and Violens, which he produced with co-creator, artist George Pérez.David's early 2000s work includes runs on two volumes of Captain Marvel, which debuted in 2000 and 2002 as well as the Before the Fantastic Four: Reed Richards limited series.David and his second wife, Kathleen, wrote the final English-language text for the first four volumes of the manga series Negima for Del Rey Manga. In 2003, David began writing another creator-owned comic, Fallen Angel, for DC Comics, which he created in order to make use of plans he had devised for Supergirl after the "Many Happy Returns" storyline, but which were derailed by that series' cancellation. That same year, he wrote a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series for Dreamwave that tied into the animated television
series broadcast that year. DC canceled Fallen Angel after 20 issues, but David restarted the title at IDW Publishing at the end of 2005. Other IDW work included a Spike: Old Times one-shot and the Spike vs. Dracula mini-series, both based on the character from the Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel television series. David with writer Dan Slott at Jim Hanley's Universe in Manhattan, October 25, 2007, promoting the beginning of David's tenure as writer on She-Hulk.In 2005, David briefly returned to The Incredible Hulk, though he left after only 11 issues because of his workload. He started a new series, Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, beginning with a twelve-part crossover storyline called "The Other", which, along with J. Michael Straczynski's run on The Amazing Spider-Man, and Reginald Hudlin's run on Marvel Knights Spider-Man, depicted the webslinger as he discovered he was dying, lost an eye during a traumatic fight with Morlun, underwent a
metamorphosis and emerged with new abilities and insights into his powers. As tends to be the case when fundamental changes are introduced to long-standing classic comics characters, the storyline caused some controversy among readers for its introduction of retractable stingers in Spider-Man's arms, and the establishment of a "totem" from which his powers are derived.] David's final issue of that title was #23.]David wrote a MadroX miniseries that year, whose success led to a relaunch of a monthly X-Factor volume 3 written by him. This was a revamped version of the title starring both Madrox and other members of the former X-Factor David wrote a MadroX miniseries that year, whose success led to a relaunch of a monthly X-Factor volume 3 written by him. This was a revamped version of the title starring both Madrox and other members of the former X-Factor title that David had written in the early 1990s, now working as investigators in a detective agency
of that name. David's work on the title garnered praise from Ain't it Cool News, and David has stated that the opt in/opt out policy and greater planning with which Marvel now executes crossover storylines has made his second stint on the title far easier. His decision to explicitly establish male characters Shatterstar and Rictor as sharing a homosexual attraction to one another (a confirmation of clues that had been established in X-Force years earlier in issues such as X-Force #25, 34, 43, 49, 56 and X-Force '99 Annual), drew criticism from Shatterstar's co-creator, Rob Liefeld, though Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada supported David's story. David would eventually win a 2011 GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Comic Book for his work on the title. On February 11, 2006, David signed an exclusive contract with Marvel Comics. Fallen Angel, Soulsearchers and Company and David's Spike miniseries were "grandfathered" into the contract, so as to not be affected by
it. The first new project undertaken by David after entering into the contract, which he announced on April 5, 2006, was writing the dialogue for The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born, the comic book spin-off of Stephen King's The Dark Tower novels, which would be illustrated by Jae Lee. He would script the subsequent Dark Tower comics as well.David took over Marvel's She-Hulk after writer Dan Slott's departure, beginning with issue #22. His run, which won praise, ended with issue #38, when the series was canceled. He wrote a 2008–09 Sir Apropos of Nothing miniseries, based on the character from his novels, which was published by IDW Publishing.]David's other 2000s comics based on licensed or adapted properties include Halo: Helljumper, a 2009 miniseries based on the Halo video game, a 2009 Ben 10: Alien Force manga book published by Del Rey, Ben Folds Four, a "Little Mermaid" story in Jim Valentino's Fractured Fables anthology that was praised by
Ain't It Cool News,an adaptation of the 1982 film Tron that was released to tie in with that film's 2010 sequel, and a John Carter of Mars prequel to the 2012 feature film. In 2010, he co-wrote The Spider-Man Vault: A Museum-in-a-Book with Rare Collectibles Spun from Marvel's Web with Robert Greenberger. David wrote the script for Avengers: Season One, an original graphic novel published to promote the DVD release of The Avengers. On November 24, 2011, David was one of the balloon handlers who pulled the Spider-Man balloon during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. In October 2013, X-Factor ended its run with issue #262, concluding the X-Factor Investigations incarnation of the series. The book was then relaunched as All-New X-Factor, a new series with artist Carmine Di Giandomenico, as a part of the All-New Marvel NOW! initiative.. The opening storyline, which continues events from issue #260 of the previous series, establishes the new
corporate-sponsored version of the team, and includes Polaris, Quicksilver, and Gambit. In July 2014, David returned to Spider-Man 2099, writing the second volume of Spider-Man 2099 with artist Will Sliney. With this series, David would again be writing two series, X-Factor and Spider-Man 2099, after having previously done so over decades prior.David first began writing Star Trek novels at the request of Pocket Books editor Dave Stern, who was a fan of David's Star Trek comic book work. His Star Trek novels are among those for which he is best known, including Q-in-Law; I, Q; Vendetta; Q-Squared; and Imzadi, one of the best-selling Star Trek novels of all time. He created the ongoing novel series, Star Trek: New Frontier, a spin-off from Star Trek: The Next Generation, with John J. Ordover in 1997. New Frontier continued until April 2011, with the publication of Blind Man's Bluff, the final New Frontier novel on David's contract at the time, after
which the series' future was unclear to David. David's other science fiction tie-in novels include written five Babylon 5 novels, three of which were originals, and two of which were adaptations of the TV movies Thirdspace and In the Beginning. His other novel adaptations include those of the movies The Return of Swamp Thing, The Rocketeer, Batman Forever, Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man 3, Hulk, The Incredible Hulk, Fantastic Four, and Iron Man. He wrote an original Hulk novel, The Incredible Hulk: What Savage Beast, based on story ideas that he was not permitted to use in the comic book, and an adaptation of an unused Alien Nation television script, "Body and Soul".David's 2009 novel Tigerheart is a re-imagining of Peter Pan with a mix of new and old characters, told as a Victorian bedtime story, much like the classic tale. It was praised by Ain't It Cool News, and honored by the School Library Journal as one of 2008's Best Adult Books for High
School Students. His Sir Apropos of Nothing fantasy trilogy, Sir Apropos of Nothing, The Woad to Wuin and Tong Lashing, features characters and settings completely of David's own creation, as does his 2007 fantasy novel, Darkness of the Light, which is the first in a new trilogy of novels titled The Hidden Earth. The second installment, The Highness of the Low, was scheduled to be published in September 2009, but David has related on his blog that it has been delayed until the winter of 2012.David's 2010 novel work includes Year of the Black Rainbow, a novel cowritten with musician Claudio Sanchez of the band Coheed and Cambria, that was released with the band's album of the same name, and an Fable original novel The Balverine Order, set between the events of Fable II and Fable III. In April 2011, David announced that, in addition to another Fable novel, he and a number of other writers, including Glenn Hauman, Mike Friedman and Bob Greenberger, were
assembling an electronic publishing endeavor called Crazy Eight Press, which would allow them to publish e-books directly to fans, the first of which would be David's Arthurian story, The Camelot Papers. David explained that the second book in his "Hidden Earth" trilogy would be published through Crazy Eight. In September 2013, David acknowledged that books published through Crazy Eight are not as lucrative for him as those for publishers that pay him advances, and announced that his then-impending novel, ARTFUL: Being the Heretofore Secret History of that Unique Individual, The Artful Dodger, Hunter of Vampyres (Amongst Other Things.), would be published by Amazon.com.David assisted Star Trek actor James Doohan with Doohan's 1996 autobiography, Beam Me Up, Scotty.David has written for several television series and video games. He wrote two scripts for Babylon 5 (the second-season episodes "Soul Mates" and "There All the Honor Lies"), and the episode
"Ruling from the Tomb" for its sequel series, Crusade. With actor/writer Bill Mumy, he is co-creator of the television series Space Cases, which ran for two seasons on Nickelodeon. David himself appeared as Ben, the father of series regular Bova, in the second season episode "Long Distance Calls". David's oldest daughter, Shana, would later appear as Pezu, the emotionally disturbed sentient computer in the series finale "A Friend in Need".David has written and co-produced several films for Full Moon Entertainment and has made cameo appearances in some of the films as well.David wrote an unproduced script for the fifth season of Babylon 5 called "Gut Reactions", which he wrote with Bill Mumy.]David wrote "In Charm's Way", an episode of Ben 10: Alien Force. The script was recorded in early 2009, and the episode premiered November 13, 2009. He later wrote three episodes of the spinoff Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, the first of which, "Reflected Glory", premiered
October 15, 2010.]David wrote the script for the Xbox 360 video game Shadow Complex, which debuted in August 2009.David wrote several episodes of the Young Justice animated TV series, which premiered in 2010, and is based on the comic book series he wrote from 1998 to 2003. The first episode he penned is episode #18.] The same year, he wrote a graphic novel adaptation of the video game Epic Mickey, and a prequel digicomic, Disney's Epic Mickey: Tales of Wasteland. In 2011 David wrote the video game Spider-Man: The Edge of Time.At the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con International, Stan Lee announced his new YouTube channel, Stan Lee's World of Heroes, which airs several programs created by Lee and other creators. One of them, Head Cases, is a superhero sitcom created by David and his wife Kathleen, and produced by David M. Uslan. George Perez-American writer and illustrator of comic books, whose titles include The Avengers, Teen Titans, and Wonder Woman. Writer Peter David has named Pérez his favorite artistic collaborator. He and Mantlo co-created the White Tiger (comics' first Puerto Rican superhero).Pérez drew the first part of writer Jim Shooter's "The Korvac Saga", which featured nearly every Avenger who joined the team up to that point.
Writer David Michelinie and Pérez created the Taskmaster in The Avengers #195.Offered the art chores for the launch of The New Teen Titans, written by Wolfman.Pérez' became regular artist on Justice League of America.DC's 1985 50th-anniversary event, Crisis on Infinite Earths.
After Crisis, Pérez inked the final issue of Superman (issue #423) in September 1986, over Curt Swan's pencils for Part 1 of the 2-part story Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow? by writer Alan Moore. The following month, Pérez was one of the artists on Batman #400 Wolfman and Pérez teamed again to produce the History of the DC Universe limited series to summarize the company's new history. Pérez drew the cover for the DC Heroes roleplaying game. Pérez also illustrated the cover for the fourth edition of the Champions roleplaying game from Hero Games.
Long Stint-Wonder-Woman.In Action Comics #544 (June 1983), he designed Lex Luthor's trademark battlesuit.Pérez signed on to pencil the six-issue limited series Infinity Gauntlet.Hulk: Future Imperfect, Silver Surfer/Superman, JLA/Avengers,Infinite Crisis,Final Crisis: Legion of 3 Worlds. In September 2011, DC launched a new Superman series written by Pérez. In July 2012, Pérez explained his departure from Superman as a reaction to the level of editorial oversight he experienced. This included inconsistent reasons given for rewrites of his material, the inability of editors to explain to him basic aspects of the New 52 Superman's status quo (such as whether his adoptive parents were still alive), and restrictions imposed by having to be consistent with Action Comics, which is set five years earlier than Superman, a situation complicated by the fact that Action writer Grant Morrison was not forthcoming about his plans.
Marv Wolfman- He is best known for lengthy runs on Marvel Comics The Tomb of Dracula, for which he and artist Gene Colan created the vampire-slayer Blade, and DC Comics' The New Teen Titans and the event limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths with George Pérez.
Wolfman and Gil Kane created an origin for Wonder Girl in Teen Titans No. 22 (July–Aug. 1969) which introduced the character's new costume.
Wolfman co-created Bullseye in Daredevil No. 131 (March 1976). He and artist John Buscema created Nova in that character's eponymous first issue. Wolfman and Gil Kane adapted Edgar Rice Burroughs' Barsoom concepts into comics in Marvel's John Carter, Warlord of Mars series. Wolfman wrote 14 issues of Marvel Two-in-One starting with issue No. 25 (March 1977). The Spider-Woman series was launched in April 1978 by Wolfman and artist Carmine Infantino. As the first regular writer on Spider-Woman, he redesigned the character, giving her a human identity as Jessica Drew. Wolfman succeeded Len Wein as writer of The Amazing Spider-Man and in his first issue, No. 182 (July 1978), had Peter Parker propose marriage to Mary Jane Watson who refused, in the following issue. Wolfman and Keith Pollard introduced the likable rogue the Black Cat (Felicia Hardy) in The Amazing Spider-Man No. 194 (July 1979).In 1978, Wolfman and artist Alan Kupperberg took over the Howard
the Duck syndicated newspaper comic strip. While writing the Fantastic Four, Wolfman and John Byrne introduced a new herald for Galactus named Terrax in No. 211 (Oct. 1979). A Godzilla story by Wolfman and Steve Ditko was changed into a Dragon Lord story published in Marvel Spotlight vol. 2 No. 5 (March 1980). The creature that the Dragon Lord battled was intended to be Godzilla but since Marvel no longer had the rights to the character (which lapsed the previous year) the creature was modified to a dragon called The Wani. The New Teen Titans]In 1980, Wolfman returned to DC after a dispute with Marvel. Teaming with penciller George Pérez, Wolfman relaunched DC's Teen Titans in a special preview in DC Comics Presents No. 26 (October 1980). The New Teen Titans added the Wolfman-Pérez creations Raven, Starfire and Cyborg to the old team's Robin, Wonder Girl, Kid Flash and Beast Boy (renamed ChangelingThe series became DC's first new hit in years. In August
1984, a second series of The New Teen Titans was launched by Wolfman and Pérez.Other projects by Wolfman for DC during the early 1980s included collaborating with artist Gil Kane on a run on the Superman feature in Action Comics; a revival of Dial H for Hero with Carmine Infantino; launching Night Force, a supernatural series drawn by Gene Colan; and a nearly two-year run on Green Lantern with Joe Staton. During their collaboration on that series, Wolfman and Staton created the Omega Men in Green Lantern No. 141 (June 1981).After Pérez left The New Teen Titans in 1985, Wolfman continued for many years with other collaborators – including pencillers José Luis García-López, Eduardo Barreto and Tom Grummett. In December 1986, Wolfman was informed by Marvel writer Chris Claremont that a DC executive had approached Claremont at a holiday party and offered him the position of writer on The New Teen Titans. Claremont immediately declined the offer and
told Wolfman that apparently the publisher was looking to replace him on the title. When Wolfman confronted DC executives about this, he was told it was "just a joke", although Claremont reiterated that he took it to be a credible and official offer.Crisis on Infinite Earths Crisis on Infinite Earths No. 1, written by Wolfman. Art by George Pérez. In 1985, Wolfman and Pérez launched Crisis on Infinite Earths, a 12-issue limited series celebrating DC's 50th anniversary. Featuring a cast of thousands and a timeline that ranged from the beginning of the universe to the end of time, it killed scores of characters, integrated a number of heroes from other companies to DC continuity, and re-wrote 50 years of DC universe history in order to streamline it. After finishing Crisis, Wolfman and Pérez produced the History of the DC Universe limited series to summarize the company's new history.Wolfman was involved in the relaunch of the Superman line as well,
reinventing nemesis Lex Luthor and initially scripting the Adventures of Superman title with Jerry Ordway as the Artist. During this period they Introduced Bibbo Bibbowski and Professor Emil Hamilton.]Ratings dispute Wolfman got into a public dispute with DC over a proposed ratings system, which led to his being relieved of his editorial duties by the company. DC offered to reinstate Wolfman as an editor provided he apologize for making his criticism of the ratings system public, rather than keeping them internal to the company, but he declined to do so.1990s Wolfman had a brief run on Batman, creating Robin III Tim Drake and writing an anniversary adaptation of the first ever Batman story, which was printed along with two other adaptations and the original. He continued as The New Titans writer and revitalized the series with artist Tom Grummett. Wolfman wrote the series until the title's last issue. He and artist Bernie Wrightson co-created Destiny in
Weird Mystery Tales No. 1 (July–Aug. 1972), a character which would later be used in the work of Neil Gaiman.their run on this series,. However, in the 1990s Wolfman's writing for comics decreased as he turned to animation and television, though he wrote the mid-1990s DC series The Man Called A-X.Disney careerIn the early-1990s, Wolfman worked at Disney Comics publishing. He wrote scripts for a seven parts DuckTales story (Scrooge's Quest), as well as several others – with the characters from the Mickey Mouse universe – that appeared in Mickey Mouse Adventures. He was editor of the comics section on the Disney Adventures magazine, at the first years of the publication.Beast Machines: Transformers In the late 1990s, Wolfman developed the Transformers TV series Beast Machines, which aired on Fox Kids for two seasons from 1999–2000. The show was a direct continuation of the immensely popular Beast Wars series, which itself was a continuation of the
original Generation One Transformers show. Beast Machines was met with mixed reviews, as the show was praised for its deep story, but was criticized for its lack of action in comparison to other Transformers shows. Previously, in the 80s, Wolfman authored the story for Optimus Prime's return in The Return of Optimus Prime of the third season of Transformers.A decade later, Wolfman began writing in comics again, scripting Defex, the flagship title of Devil's Due Productions' Aftermath line. He wrote an "Infinite Crisis" issue of DC's "Secret Files", and consulted with writer Geoff Johns on several issues of The Teen Titans. Wolfman wrote a novel based on Crisis on Infinite Earths, but rather than following the original plot, he created a new story starring the Barry Allen Flash that takes place during the original Crisis story. Wolfman wrote the novelization of the film Superman Returns, and worked on a direct-to-video animated movie, Condor, for Stan
Lee's Pow Entertainment. In 2006, Wolfman was editorial director of Impact Comics (no relation to the DC Comics imprint), publisher of educational manga-style comics for high school students. That same year, starting with issue No. 125, Wolfman began writing DC's Nightwing series. Initially scheduled for a four-issue run, Wolfman's run was expanded to a baker's dozen issues, and finished with No. 137. During the course of his run, Wolfman introduced a new Vigilante character. Following Wolfman's departure from the pages of Nightwing, Vigilante was spun off into his own short-lived title, which Wolfman wrote. He wrote a miniseries starring the Teen Titan Raven, a character he and George Pérez co-created during their run on The New Teen Titans, helping to revamp and update the character. He is working with Pérez on a direct-to-DVD movie adaptation of the popular "Judas Contract" storyline from their tenure on Teen Titans. In 2011, he and Pérez completed
the New Teen Titans: Games graphic novel, which they had begun working on in the late 1980s. Wolfman revived his Night Force series with artist Tom Mandrake in 2012. He served as writing consultant on the video game Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, which he was nominated for a Writers Guild of America Award for Outstanding Achievement in Videogame Writing.Wolfman, on the panel "Marvel Comics: The Method and the Madness" at the 1974 New York City Comic Art Convention, told the audience that when he first began working for DC Comics, he received DC's first writing credit on its mystery magazines. Gerry Conway, who wrote the horror-host interstitial pages between stories, wrote in one issue that the following story was told by a "wandering Wolfman." The Comics Code Authority, which did not permit the mention of werewolves or wolfmen, demanded it be removed. DC informed the Authority that "Wolfman" was the writer's last name, so the Authority insisted he be
given a credit to show the "Wolfman" was a real person. Once Wolfman was given a credit, other writers demanded them as well. Shortly, credits were given to all writers and artists.Awards:1982 Eagle Award for "Best New Book" and 1984 and 1985 Eagle Awards for "Best Group Book" for New Teen Titans.A 1979 Inkpot Award in 1979.Wolfman's and artist George Pérez's Crisis on Infinite Earths won the 1985 and 1986 Jack Kirby Awards for Best Finite Series. In 1985, DC Comics named Wolfman as one of the honorees in the company's 50th anniversary publication Fifty Who Made DC Great.Nominated, 1986 Comics' Buyer's Guide Award for Favorite Writer in 1986, and his work on the "Batman: Year Three" story arc in Batman #436–439 was nominated Comics' Buyer's Guide Favorite Writer Award in 1990.2007 Scribe Award for "Adapted Speculative Fiction Novel", given by writers of novelization and tie-in fiction for his novel based on Superman Returns.2008 National Jewish Book
