Bleeding Cool Bestseller List – 30th September 2014 – Hush! Eternal's Back At The Top…

BMETRI-Cv25-ds-f0649

This is the Top Ten Bleeding Cool Bestseller List, as compiled by a number of comic stores from their sales on Wednesday and Thursday. It measures what are known as the "Wednesday Warriors", those who can't wait to the weekend to get this week's comics. We salute you, and the keenness you bring to your passion.

The Hush-covered Batman Eternal takes that comic back to the top of the list, a position it has enjoyed for much of its run, though Harley Quinn, Guardians and Saga came close to toppling it….

  1. Batman Eternal #25
  2. Harley Quinn Futures End #1
  3. Guardians of the Galaxy #19
  4. Saga #23
  5. New 52: Futures End #21
  6. Flash: Futures End #1
  7. New Avengers #24
  8. Superman: Futures End #1
  9. Edge Of Spider-Verse #3
  10. Outcast #4

Thanks to the following retailers

Who had this to say….

Wow, the 3D covers really help sales. Star Spangled War Stories GI Zombie Futures End 1 people actually talked about. The whole eye coming out of the cover 3D look caused people to take notice of GI Zombie and buy it. Will people come back and get the regular series? Hope so. People still picking up all of the 3D covers. Slow week for Marvel with Guardians of the Galaxy and Deadpool leading the way for them. Inhumans are dead in the water. Selling out of the weekly Futures End on Wednesdays now. The series somehow gained steam. Which is a good thing. Solid week

Iron Man back issues are taking off here thanks to Bob Layton coming to the store on October 4th. People want material for signing. Batman's first series starting to see more movement.

Last week of the 3D's and Harley Quinn was the leader of the pack. i have seen people back tracking on week 1 and 2. i think that people grabbed the ones they thought would sell out and are now completing the set on the back end of the month. Outcast still strong. Batman eternal slipped, will have to see if it rebounds in October since the September DC event is now over.

Justice League and Catwoman are the back-issue movers for the week. Wolverine still being picked at, mostly key issues .

Awesome week in new comics! Some heavy hitters from Marvel this week. Guardians took our top spot with ease. Doesn't seem to be any end in sight to the love for those characters. This is definitely one of those times where a movie is bringing people into shops. DC's lenticulars aren't doing too well. Customers are letting us know they will be happy to get back to the regular storylines. I'll just be happy to have stacks of books that don't rapid fire flip off the shelf by the dozen at the drop of a hat. Image keeps on moving up the list. We had Outcast and Saga near the top of our top ten list. That's pretty damn awesome. Well deserved too! Roche Limit #1 ended up selling great too. We have a lot of customers these days who will read almost any Image #1 that hits the stands.

Lumberjanes is a book that started out slow here but has gotten a massive following. If you aren't carrying it in your shop you need to start. It has a wide ranging readership and we have more and more people asking for it every week.

DC's Future's End books seem to be selling largely for the covers; many buyers mention they don't even care about reading the books. DC has cooled off a great deal; let's hope they have something planned to put the fun and excitement back into the DCU!

Saga took our top spot by a country mile. Marvel dominated the week beyond that with the only DC book in the top 5 being Batman Eternal.

Edge of Spider-verse continues to do very well.
Completely sold out of Roche Limit #1.
Many, many copies of 3D Futures End issues sitting on the shelf and even more standard.

People love Deadpool. People love Harley Quinn.

Really good week of books. Edge of Spider-Verse #2 raised the level for the series and quickly sold out of #3. 3D Futures End have sold well, with a few stinkers. The hazard of ordering 4 months out. There was no extra movement on Avengers #35 (first part of 8 Months Later) but it did have an effect on sales of New Avengers #24 this week and I sold out quickly.
