One of my favorite pre-New York Comic Con (NYCC) events over the past few years has been ReedPOP's Heroes & Villains parties, which have grown and evolved from being separate "heroes" and "villains" themed events to this year's larger, ticketed party at Bowlmor Times Square in NYC. Partnering with party/event organizer SONICBOOMBOX, NYCC Heroes & Villains Party 2016 offered party-goers six hours of bowling with a private bar and music (with video`games also available on the floor); an air hockey tournament; cosplay competition; and raffle prizes ranging from an autographed copy of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur to a three-day NYCC pass. Giveaways throughout the event included NYCC 2015 posters, SONICBOOMBOX t-shirts, Brooklyn Defender pint glasses and (personal favorite) a number of comics from a range of publishers. Speaking of comics, special thanks to creators Amy Reeder, Gregg Schigiel, Chris Giarrusso and Paul Azaceta for coming and hanging-out with fans throughout the night…much appreciated by everyone involved.
So here's just a small sample of what the night was like…and why I feel like NYCC can't get here soon enough:
