Did Dark Nights: Metal #6 Include a Jibe Against Eddie Berganza?

The big event series from DC Comics that has just concluded, Dark Nights: Metal, was initially edited by Eddie Berganza and assistant edited by Rebecca Taylor.

Then, spurred on by the news of Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey, #MeToo, and more, Buzzfeed revived and delved deeper into allegations against Berganza. Revealing information previously not widely known, even within DC Comics, Berganza's job was untenable and he was dismissed (albeit it with a sizeable payoff and NDA).

And Rebecca became the full editor of Metal, with Dave Wielgosz as Assistant Editor.

The series had a number of editorial note captions in it, which genuinely came from the editorial team rather than Scott Snyder ghostwriting them. It was an attempt to being back some of the playfulness, enhancing the crazy plot and character additions as a way of fighting against the dark.

But one of Rebecca's editorial notes caused a few comic book creators to contact me — because they'd heard it before. From one of the final pages by Mikel Janin

And now reclaimed by DC editorial staff and used to close off the series. Nice and pointed and going over the head of everyone who doesn't know…
