DC Comics Rebirth Bi-Weekly Comics To Have Up To Three Art Teams

dc-rebirth-new-850x560I have been told that many of the DC Comics Rebirth titles will have three revolving art teams to keep the projects on track.

Bleeding Cool originally broke the news that DC Comics were to relaunch their comics in June with mostly new number ones and make a number of their comics bi-weekly, something DC Comics later confirmed, naming it "Rebirth". They have announced the names of the new books, but are leaving the creative teams until WonderCon. This is partially because they didn't actually know who was doing the books and I've been told of at least one major change made in recent weeks.

It has been observed that a number of comic book creators have dropped off their current monthly titles at DC Comics – that's so the creators can get ahead of the demands of a bi-weekly book to come.

Which is why Green Lantern Corps: Edge Of Oblivion was solicited as drawn by Ethan Van Sciver, but now features art by Ardian Syaf and Jonathan Glapion..

However, delays to signing off scripts may have made much of this moot. And while three separate art teams was meant to help share the load and get the books out over a reasonable time period, in many cases delays seems to have wiped out much of that lead time.

So it may well be business as usual… just twice a month.
