Doctor Who: Time Lord Victorious FOC Today, Will Stores Order Enough?

Today is the last day that retailers can amend their order the first issue of the upcoming Doctor Who: Time Lord Victorious comic book series from Titan Comics. It may be a bigger deal than some comic book stores may have realised though. It is a multi-media crossover, publishing from September 2020 to January 2021, in comics, books, novels, short stories, toys, games and who knows what else, from Penguin Random House, Doctor Who Magazine, Titan Comics, Escape Hunt, Big Finish Productions, Eaglemoss Hero Collector, Immersive Everywhere, Maze Theory, BBC Books and BBC Audio. But the first chapter will be the first issue of the comic book.

Time Lord Victorious will tell a new story, set in the Dark Times near the start of the universe, when even the Eternals were young. Following several Doctors across space and time as they defend their home planet from a terrible race, the story will feature the Eighth, Ninth and Tenth Doctors, as well as Rose Tyler, the Ood and the Daleks. It is likely that readers or listeners to Doctor Who in all those other media will seek out the comic book – and it is possible they will find comic book stores wanting. Forbidden Planet has gone deep – but not every store is Forbidden Planet.

As well as multiple covers, Time Lord Victorious #1 is also fully returnable to Diamond Comic Distributors for all comic book retailers. So comic stores can up their orders without additional risk. But how many will? If you are actually wanting a copy, today would be the day to tell your local comic book store. Here's a preview and a list of what is to come…
