We The Heroes Ball Returns To New York Comic Con For Second Year

After a successful first year at New York Comic Con 2016, NYCC, HBC Out + About, Shane Cherry and Akira are bringing back the We The Heroes Ball, to take place on October 2nd, 2017 at Rockbar NYC. The ball will kick off the 'NYCC Presents, New York Comic Con' series of events throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn leading up to the New York Comic Con weekend itself at the Javits Center.

We The Heroes Ball is again hosted by Fifi Dubois (Miss Nerd New York 2017), and will feature Hazel Tart, Lee VaLone Valore, Valentine, Bella Noche, and Akira.

We The Heroes Ball Returns To New York Comic Con For Second Year

One of the biggest LGBTQ+ events occurring as part of NYCC and it's lead-up, it is once again in benefit to Trinity Place Shelter via donations and an in-person raffle. Among the items listed as raffle prizes will be day passes to each individual day of New York Comic Con.

Akira, who released his first EP on iTunes this year called Autotune + Heart, said:

"We raised $700 last year, and that's nothing to scoff at, but with what's going on in the world, organizations like Trinity Place Shelter are so important and I wanted to make it a challenge to up our donation. NYCC pulled through but we've also made it a point to feature raffle prizes from local artists, and I think what we have this year is really special and is going to get us to where we want to be."

Matt Wasowski, Content Director for New York Comic Con Presents, is nothing but complimentary of the event, and is promising a good night for all:

"We were so happy to see that last year's event had a great turnout and raised so much for a great cause. The decision to do the event again was a no-brainer, and we can't wait for everyone to see what we have up our sleeves."

Tickets for We The Heroes Ball are $7 and are available here.
