Kodansha Cancels Miraculous Manga For FCBD Free Comic Book Day

Kodansha cancel their FCBD Gold Free Comic Book Day 2023 title that would have previewed the Miraculous manga abased on the Netflix show.

Penguin Random House has told comic book stores that, due to delays Kodansha has had to cancel their FCBD Gold Free Comic Book Day 2023 Miraculous/Lovely Muco! title. And that all orders have been cancelled. No one seems to have told Diamond Comic Distributors yet, who still list the title for Free Comic Book Day. Originally it was listed thus, promoting Little Mico. But was promising a big surprise.

But now it seems the whole thing has been sunk. Will another Gold Free Comic Book Day title take its place? Will a Silver title be promoted?

Free Comic Book Day is the biggest event in the comic book industry, in which comic stores, bookshops, museums and libraries give away comic books absolutely free to anyone who comes by. Founded by comic book retailer Joe Field, and held every year, on the first Saturday in May, major publishers such as DC, Marvel, Scholastic, Viz Media and Kodansha along with a slew of independent publishers, put out free comics for fans to enjoy at the more than 2,300 local comic shops that participate in Free Comic Book Day. All three of DC's FCBD specials will be available at participating retailers on Saturday, May 6, 2023. These titles will be on Final Order Cutoff on Sunday, March 5, with a ship date to retailers of April 18. Each Free Comic Book Day release will feature a white box on the front or back cover, where retailers can stamp or sticker information about their stores. All three releases are standard 6 5/8" x 10 3/16" comic book dimensions, and 32 pages.
