"Make Comics. It's Cool."

While I was in Phoenix, Brendon kindly told you all that Bleu Est Une Couleur Chaude, translated as Blue Is The Warmest Colour is the first film based on a comic to win the Palm D'or. A History Of Violence was nominated, and Persepolis won the Cannes Jury Prize, but this is a first for the higher profile award.

The English adaptation of the Angouleme Audience Prize winning graphic novel is scheduled for publication in September but a different translation of the title to Blue Angel may not link it as clearly to the movie. So, you know, watch for that to change sharpish.

But the author of the original comic? Her thoughts are simple. Writing on her blog about the award, she expressed her gratitude at the kind messages, told us that she'd seen the film twice and would add her thoughts later in the week, but her final words were "Faites de la bd, c'est cool" or "Make comics, it's cool."

It is cool. It really is.
