Milt Gross' Lost Graphic Novel Comes To IDW Publishing

MiltonMilt Gross was known as a cartoonist, animator (for Disney and MGM), novelist and screenwriter (co-writing with Charlie Chaplin). He is also known for having written and drawn one of the first graphic novels, He Done Her Wrong, in 1930.

Now IDW Publishing and Yoe Books are teaming up to release his 'lost' grpahic novel, Milt Gross' New York. In the story Gross' character Pop and his sidekick son travel all through the city from the East Side to the West Side with stops in Chinatown, Harlem and even Yankee Stadium and Coney Island.

"Gross was a comedic genius," said Craig Yoe. "Publishing our previous Gross book, The Complete Milt Comic Books and Life Story, and now this rare, important and hilarious lost graphic novel would make me proudly stand tall—if I wasn't rolling on the floor laughing from Gross' guffaw-inducing work!

The book includes an introduction by Jim Steranko, has 104 pages and goes on sale this December. Just in time for the holidays.
