Now Marvel Adds #BackTheComeback Stickers to Their Comics
Image Comics did it first for this week, Bleeding Cool running the news a week ago. But Marvel Comics will be joining them. Including the Diamond #BackTheComeback stamp on their covers on books coming out on July 15th. Including a certain Empyre #1. They will also have Back the Comeback in-store promotions for game stores are in the works and will be announced shortly.
It is a weird statement. And I have definitely heard the porntastic version of the #BackTheComeback slogan being used by folks a number of times now.
Diamond had placed the #BackTheComeback symbol on Diamond packaging arriving in stores, as well as on T-shirts (one of which made its way to me) and had hoped that comic book publishers would follow suit. Image and Marvel have announced their plan, but it is unlikely that DC Comics will do so now.
Centred around the appeal of "Our Comeback Will Be Bigger Than Our Setback," Diamond Comic Distributors and Alliance Game Distributors state that they created the multi-phased "Back the Comeback" campaign in partnership with publishers and industry influencers to shine a light on the unique relationship consumers have with their local comic and game retailers while raising funds to help them reopen, restart and rebuild.
