Predestination In Clone Conspiracy And Superman Today – Not A Civil War II Crossover But SPOILERS

Marvel's Civil War II is coming to a close – or at least the crossovers have. They were mostly on time, even if the main series wasn't. But the ideas of the complications caused by predestination continue. Knowing the future, or that of a parallel dimension, affecting the present.

I teased this earlier in the week, comparing the big reveal in today's Clone Conspiracy #2 as similar to that in the Daredevils comic published by Marvel UK, and the Alan Davis/Alan Moore Sir James Jaspers plot.

How one thing that happened in one dimension, looked to play out in another. It's been a common theme.

Because this execution seems to be exactly what's happening in Clone Conspiracy. It's not about the clones. It's about the conspiracy. And Kaine, the Scarlet Spider spanning the dimensions seeing what has happened on other worlds and how it might happen here.

I mean, that's basically pan-dimensional predestination, right? Oh and it also underlines the fact that Doctor Octopus is the Super Spider-Man. He'd have never let that happen.

Of course, there is also a reality, out today, in Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows in which this could never happen, no matter how many times Scarlet Spider might visit it.

But strangely something similar is happening in Superman today. As Lex Luthor, who has taken on the Superman role, is dealing with violent invaders. Who have a similar vision of the future they are trying to prevent.
