Constantine Does Still Smoke. And Got Kicked Out Of Hotel Rooms At San Diego For Doing So.

John Constantine is DC Comics' best known smoker. Starring in the series Hellblazer for 300 issues and now the Constantine comic, we've been used to seeing him lighting up in the shadows, while creating a supernatural con trick including, at one point, tricking the devil into curing his resultant lung cancer.

The TV show seeks to not show a cigarette touching his lips. But the actor, Matt Ryan? He's still at it, as he was the other night when bonding with a fellow Welshman and Bleeding Cool writer outside a popular San Diego Comic Con hotel.

But he hasn't kept said smoking outside the hotel. We understand that this tweet,

Is as a result of Californian strict smoking rules in hotel rooms. All we can say is, Matt? Try the balcony and clean up any detritus after yourself. Then they can't touch you for it… and it beats the magic trick of having your hotel room disappear.
