Munsters Reboot Probably Isn't Going To Happen – UPDATE: Or Maybe It Is
Patrick Dane writes for Bleeding Cool
It seems that NBC are about ready to pass on Bryan Fuller's Mockingbird Lane, the TV reboot of the classic show The Munsters. We had previously reported and excitedly about the show but it all seems to have come to nil. For one reason or another the heads decided that a new show about a family of monsters was risky. I can't say that I wholely agree with that point, but I suppose that's why I am not Bob Greenblatt.
Deadline are saying that the pilot, directed by Bryan Singer and starring Jerry O'Connell as Herman Munster, Portia de Rossi as Lily and Eddie Izzard as Grandpa, ultimately "didn't quite work".
While the show could still be miraculously revived, for now, you Munsters fans may do best to put your expectations on a high shelf. Meanwhile, Fuller is still working on his Hannibal Lecter television series called…well Hannibal.
UPDATE: Well, apparently there has been a twist in the tale with Bryan Fuller tweeting:
NBC just informed me the Deadline article regarding #MockingbirdLane was Dead Wrong. Stay tuned for updates!
Thanks to various Little Bleeders for pointing out Fuller's comment.
