Simon Pegg Will Be Joining Frank Darabont's LA Noir Pilot
Frank Darabont's crime drama pilot LA Noir has been attracting quite a lot of attention recently, mainly due to the fact that Jon Bernthal will be starring in the lead role and coincidentally will also be leaving The Walking Dead at the end of this season. Darabont is attached to the pilot as writer and director, and presumably will stay onboard as showrunner if LA Noir is picked up for a full series.
The latest casting announcement, according to an "insider" over at TVLine, is that British actor Simon Pegg has just been cast in the pilot, joining Bernthal and other previously announced cast memberes Milo Ventimiglia and Neil McDonough. It seems that Pegg is fast becoming a Hollywood favourite, having in recent years added roles in Star Trek, Paul and Mission Impossible III to his CV.
This is certainly good news for the pilot, and will most likely gain LA Noir a few more viewers when it is aired. Use him wisely, Darabont.
