Thursday Runaround: Sif, The Destroyer, And 40 Cakes
Rich just boarded his plane — with someone from the Dr Who cast, it seems — on his way to C2E2. It's turned sunny and warm here in the Midwest so it's a good weekend for the con. While he's in the air, I'll be turning BC into an all Jack Kirby blog finishing up my own last bit of c2e2 prep before I get the Avatar crew on their way up there as well, and keeping an eye out for anything that's happening while most of the industry is setting up con booths. But here's a few tidbits:

So A Comic Shop introduced The Geek Easy, an expanded hang-out area in the space where the neighboring business once was, that serves as a safe room where comic lovers can let their fanboy flags fly freely. Inside, characters from the Mario Bros. video games are painted on the light blue walls. Open since fall 2010, the Geek Easy is a bring-your-own-beer lounge that hosts gamers, comic fans and movie lovers, and regular events like "Dungeons and Doritos" and "Geekgasms," "Comic Art Jams" and "Drink and Draw." One of its newest developments may be the one most antithetical to the comic-shop stereotype: the Fangirls club.

New Details Revealed on BATMAN LIVE
BATMAN LIVE, which will begin a full arena tour in the UK in July, has revealed additional information about the plot lines featured in the production. The show will follow Dick Grayson, an orphaned circus performer who is looked after by Bruce Wayne. In his search for justice, he discovers the true identity of Batman and joins him as his crime-fighting sidekick, Robin.
In attendance were writers Joe Kelly, Steve Seagle, Joe Casey and Duncan Rouleau—collectively known as Man of Action—as well as Paul Dini and Brian Michael Bendis. Also pitching in were Jeph Loeb, Joe Quesada, Stephen Wacker, Cort Lane and Harrison Wilcox.
