Will America's Got Powers Be The Biggest Bang For Your Buck In April?

It may be a combination of schedules, issues with getting retailers to order two launch issues for the same month, or the desire to make a bigger impact on day one, but the announcement that America's Got Powers by Jonathan Ross and Bryan Hitch would now launch with one issue in April, with 38 story pages for $2.99 does put the lie to the claim by certain publishers that a $3.99 20 page price point is necessary to pay top flight creators to stay on certain comics. Because you don't get more top flight than those two.

In the next issue of CLiNT (in the hands of certain lucky people now), Bryan Hitch shows off some preview art. Here is a brief example of that;

Will America's Got Powers Be The Biggest Bang For Your Buck In April?

The magazine describes the comic, based on a superpowered reality show as the only way for people to deal with the powered community, "into this maelstrom of hormones and hopes, electric powers and super-speed, locker-room tensions and stadium brawls, comes the one teen in the building who doesn't have powers. Tommy Watt dreams of being The Hero who clinches the prize — but in a stadium full of spandex, he's in a hoodie and jeans. But he might blow the whole TV show wide open to reveal the dark heart beating underneath!"

I reckon it's that Simon Cowell is a Treen.

And, probably unsurprisingly, the magazine tells readers to look for AGP joining CLiNT later in the year. A lot more art and discussion in CLiNT #15, officially out in a couple of weeks.
