Rose/Thorn is Now to Totally to Blame for Booster Gold in Legion Of Super-Heroes: MIllennium #2 (SPOILERS)
In today's Legion Of Super-Heroes: Millennium, we see Rose/Thorn's continuing immortal walk through a thousand years of DC Comics continuity to meet Superboy and the Legion Of Super-Heroes. It is known as going to the long way round. But there is a short cut.
It's one that was taken by Booster Gold. Created by Dan Jurgens in the DC Comics series Booster Gold #1 from 1986, Michael Jon Carter was a glory-seeking showboat from the future, who travelled to the present, using knowledge of historical events and futuristic technology to stage high-publicity heroics. Through the years, and personal tragedies, he become a true hero, though one weighed down by the reputation he created for himself.
Initially he was born poor in 25th-century Gotham City and after becoming a disgraced football player who bet on his own games, found worked as a night watchman at the Metropolis Space Museum where he studied displays about superheroes and villains from the past, particularly the 20th century.
Unwittingly aided by security robot named Skeets, Michael stole devices from the museum displays, including a Legion of Super-Heroes flight ring and Brainiac 5's force field belt.
He used Rip Hunter's Time Sphere, also on display in the museum, to travel to the 20th century, intent on becoming a superhero and forming a corporation based around himself to make a comfortable living.
Today that version gets tweaked, ever so slightly. Booster is not a guard but a visitor to the museum. No sneaking seems to be necessary, there just seems to be very little security. And it's all because of Rose and/or Thorn… as her 20th-century accent gives him the idea…
And he totally goes for it. Still has the same stupid hat though…
Anyway, if you are looking for anyone to blame for Booster Gold, you now have a new suspect. Oddly they both teamed up in the first Booster Gold series in issue 4…
And though there was little historial record of her, for some reason she seemed familiar to Booster…
Maybe this is the real reason why? It's all connective tissue…
