Symbiote Spider-Man: Alien Reality #1 is in stores from Marvel Comics next week, by Peter David and Greg Land, the second mini-series set in the time after Spider-Man first got his black costume after Secret Wars.

Of course, back then, Spider-Man didn't know his costume was Venom.

The preview begins with a familiar battle, Spider-Man vs. Kraven, and showing that Spidey's sensitivies were a little different back in the 80s, the Wall-Crawler suggests that Kraven hunt endangered big game species in Africa rather than Spider-Man.

Kraven gets the upper hand, injecting Spidey with a toxin.

But though Kraven thinks he has Spidey on the ropes, the suit takes control.

And the suit is lot less merciful than Spider-Man would have been.

But when Spidey awakes, he finds himself in what appears to be a completely different reality, and Kraven… is his partner?!
