Very Few on the Back Order List, but Kill Lock & Venom Join Batman & Batgirl – The Back Order List 1/22/2020
Every week your Local Comic Book shop gets in the weekly assortment of comics, trades, posters, action figures, and other goodies from Diamond. Now some of these goodies sell our fast from your LCBS, so Tuesday and Wednesday LCBS retailers get on the phone (more often the computer) and let Diamond know they need more. Or sometimes they go to unpack those Diamond boxes and find items missing, or too damaged to sell (it does happen), retailers have to let Diamond know. However, the phrase no retailer likes to hear when they go to report those shortages, damages, or reorders is: "Sorry that item is on back order", which means there are no more copies to send out from the Diamond warehouse.
The fun fourth week of the rare five week comic book shipping month gave us another varied Back Order. Still no Dawn of X prevalence, with Maurauders #5
and Excalibur #5
still very available to get from Diamond, and DC and Marvel having two books on the Back Order List. Starting with DC we get two variant covers that will not see second prints: Batgirl #43 Variant Cover (great cover by the Dodsons),
and Batman #87 Variant Cover.
IDW sees the second issue of the Kill Lock go on the Back Order list too.
Titan sees Diamond run out of copies of Blade Runner #1 NYCC variant to send.
And then Marvel goes on the Back Order list with: Web of Venom: Good Son #1, which isn't a surprise as it quickly went to second print.
However the odd entry missing, which has already gone to second print, is Guardians of the Galaxy #1. The main cover was still in stock and Diamond had copies to send out for replacements as of Friday. In fact all the variants were in stock to still send out except the Guardians of the Galaxy #1 Marvels X Variant which goes on the Back Order list.
So if you are at your LCBS and see any of these "back order titles" grab them if you want them, because Diamond "likely" won't be sending anymore 1st prints no matter how much your local retailer asks.
