Activision Blizzard announced today that they will be launching a new Consumer Products division that aims to use Activision's properties for movies and tv, competitive gaming, mobile, etc.

Tim Kilpin, formerly of Mattel and Disney, will be the division's CEO and president.

In Activision's statement, CEO Bobby Kotick said of Kilpin, "Under Tim's leadership, we will elevate our consumer product offerings to the same level of exceptional quality as our games and transform the ways audiences connect with the characters they love in their everyday lives."

The division will also be seeking "consumer experiences" alongside the more traditional retail partnerships and products.

Combined with Bungie's trademark on DestinyCon that hit earlier this morning, this could very well be Activision's main push into being a massive consumer products powerhouse.
