Here's what's happening for the Raging Battles and Battle Week events in Pokémon GO:

  • Date and time: Friday, January 19, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. to Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 08:00 p.m. local time
  • New Pokémon: The new Scarlet & Violet games introduced the region of Paldea, which we are currently exploring in Pokémon GO. The new species from this region include a new evolution in the Mankey line, which we are now getting in GO. Now, Primeape will be able to evolve into Annihilape. To evolve Primeape into Annihilape, you must make the specific Primeape you want to evolve into your Buddy and then defeat 30 Ghost-type or Psychic-type Pokémon in battle. Primeape just needs to be your Buddy and does not have to be the Pokémon fighting.
  • Wild Spawns: Mankey (can be Shiny), Machop (can be Shiny), Lickitung (can be Shiny), Gligar (can be Shiny), Sableye (can be Shiny), Throh (can be Shiny), Sawk (can be Shiny), and Scraggy (can be Shiny).
  • Event bonuses:
    • Team GO Rocket will appear more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons.
    • Throh and Sawk will both appear in the wild during the event, regardless of your location. This one is pretty cool!
    • Collection Challenges that award Fast TMs, Charged TMs, and Stardust.
  • Raids:
    • Tier One: Snubbull (can be Shiny), Houndour (can be Shiny), Pancham (can be Shiny), and Mareanie. Pancham in Raids is a pretty great feature.
    • Tier Three: Primeape (can be Shiny), Gyarados (can be Shiny), and Zweilous. Note that Primeape is Shiny-capable now.
  • Field Research: It's all about Mankey, and of course, it can be Shiny.
  • GO Battle League features:
    • Great, Ultra, and Master League will all be active
    • 4× Stardust from win rewards. (This does not include the end-of-set rewards and will not stack with the 4× Stardust bonus in January.)
    • The maximum number of sets you can play per day will be increased from five to 10—for a total of 50 battles—from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. local time.
    • Free battle-themed Timed Research will be available. Rewards include the avatar item Ingo-Style Hat.
    • $2 USD Paid GBL-themed Timed Research that rewards Rare Candy, one Rocket Radar, Stardust, and two Premium Battle Passes.
