Blizzard Teases New Overwatch Character
Blizzard has started teasing what is likely their next playable hero. So far they introduced us to Efi Oladele, an 11-year old inventor who has received a grant from the Adawe Foundation for her impressive achievements in robotics and artificial intelligence. In the 'Spotlight on Numbani' interview on their webpage, Efi tells us she builds drones and robots to aide her from time to time. This could be a set up for her being a character that uses robots to fight or that she is the creator of the next hero. She aspires to create something like the new OR15s to help keep people save and she talks about how her and her parents are going to go celebrate her grant and that it would be the first time she will fly.
But that's not where the teases end. Today Blizzard tweeted an image with the caption: "[Breaking] OR15 defense units destroyed in confrontation with unidentified assailant at Numbani airport. No civilian casualties reported."
You'd have to assume those two teases are directly related. It was originally assumed by many that the next hero for the Overwatch game was going to be Doomfist, but after Blizzard's Jeff Kaplan came out and said that the next character is not who we think it is, folks have been scrambling to figure out who it will be. So either Efi or a creation of Efi's seems to be a likely choice… unless of course what Efi created is a new Doomfist glove… you never know.
